I started off with the former Singapore Productivity & Standards Board (PSB) in 1996. In 2001, I decided join PSB Corporation after the corporatisation and was given the opportunity to learn and experience new working life in marketing field. The experience with PSB was fruitful and I get to see the metamorphosis from Singapore Productivity & Standards Board (PSB) to PSB Corporation and now as TÜV SÜD PSB.
My current position as a Marketing Executive of TÜV SÜD PSB covers a wide spectrum in scope. My key role is to support my Marketing Manager in the overall coordination and execution of all marketing, branding and communication related activities, ranging from conceptualising and implementing specific marketing strategies for targeted clients, events planning and management for corporate visits and client-servicing events such as mooncake festival, clients' movie night, Oktoberfest as well as facilitating internal communications to disseminate and process cross-departmental updates.
My most satisfying moment is to see the overwhelming participation from clients for seminar and events that I organised. Together with the support from my superior and colleagues I am overjoyed if the event is a success.
In March 2005, I was approached to join the branch union as branch official. It was an exciting and challenging journey for my involvement in union activities especially to witness negotiation on collective agreement with the management. After my 3-year term with the union, SISEU HQ decided that I should stay on to continue my term with the union for the next 4 years. I was elected as Vice Chairman of TÜV SÜD PSB Branch. Just recently in June 2008, I was approached by SISEU Industrial Relation Officer to join them as Exco member.
In short, I would say, everyday is an exciting and challenging day for me. The organisation has definitely given me the opportunity and platform for continuous learning and growth. I look forward to a fulfilling career with TÜV SÜD PSB for the coming years.
