TÜV SÜD PSB Thailand enhances its softlines service with collaboration
Thailand's textile industry is expected to grow this year despite the impact of the global financial crisis and intense competition facting this sector. According to key industry player, Thai textile exports are expected to grow close to 10% as compared to 2008 with the country set to earn an estimated US$8 billion in this segment due in part to the relocation of many Japanese production bases from China to Thailand.
To prepare for this demand, TÜV SÜD PSB Thailand is collaborating with Thailand Textile Institute (THTI), to form a strategic alliance that will strengthen the delivery of its softlines service in Thailand. With the partnership, TÜV SÜD PSB Thailand will be able to offer customers in Thailand a broader range of testing services including fibre and yarn testing, fabric testing, garment testing and eco-textile testing, as well as its suite of certification and inspection solutions.
