TÜV SÜD PSB Thailand gearing up to offer GMP inspection
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspection services for medical devices may soon be offered by TÜV SÜD PSB in line with its efforts to provide comprehensive qualification services for the healthcare sector in Thailand.
GMP Inspections for the Thai medical device industry will become madatory from 2009. Owing to its limited resources, the Thai FDA is currently considering the appointment of third party certification bodies like TÜV SÜD PSB to conduct these GMP inspections on its behalf.
Currently, TÜV SÜD PSB already offers Thai pharmaceutical manufacturers a pre-GMP readiness audit to help them identify areas for improvement before GMP inspection by the Thai FDA. This is in line with new GMP inspection criteria for pharmaceuticals recently introduced to accommodate increasing market development and expansion in this sector.
If appointed to carry out medical device GMP inspections, TÜV SÜD PSB will be able to offer greater efficiencies for medical device manufacturers where GMP inspections could be carried out in tandem with annual ISO 13485 surveillance and recertification audits to provide better cost effectiveness.
